Best Investment Banking Schools

The best investment banking schools are those that produce a lot of analysts and have huge alumni networks in the finance industry. These are generally referred to as targeted schools, and large bulge bracket investment banks typically reserve positions for students from these schools in their analyst programs.

In terms of particular schools, Ivy league schools like Harvard and Yale are one of the most admired for their ability to produce investment bankers (although it’s an generalization). Other top ranked universities include Wharton, Booth and Stern at NYU, Kellogg and Northwestern at Northwestern, Darden at UVA, Fuqua at Duke. Other prestigious schools including Imperial College London and New York City’s Baruch College also make the list.

If you prefer, you can enroll in a course run by Wall Street Prep which is used to train new hires at many bulge bracket investment banks. This course is great and covers a resource lot of basics in IB. It’s a great option for those who are trying to get into the business or improve their chances of success.

If you’re able to you can also find it on edx. If you do not have the time to take on such an in depth course, it’s better to focus on getting some experience in deal-making and doing financial modeling, perhaps even via internships.
